For homework this first ten days, you will be interacting with Mr. Franz Kafka as you read his novella
Metamorphosis. If you do not have your textbook, you can find this novella online
. The novella is also available on your kindle or e-reader for 95 cents~do not pay more.
I did have a question on the Kafka bookmark. When you break the section into scenes, you can do that within your text or make a note in your kindle. For instance, George wakes up, George's manager comes to the door, ...etc. I just wanted for our text to be a little more manageable as we discuss specifics.
You will also read and annotate the first ten chapters of
How to Read Literature Like a Professor.
In class, we will have activities, writing prompts, multiple choice practice,
and FUN that involves and enriches your summer reading experience!
